The spiritual realm

He was animated by my zeal in the midst of them. Numbers 25:11

It is strange that the world accepts enthusiasm in all fields except the spiritual. The world appreciates and understands emotion and enthusiasm, until it becomes a religious fervor - then immediately it is suspect. When you make a grand and glorious surrender to your devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ, many of your neighbors think that you are mad, that you have "gone too far" in religion.

The entire history of the missionary enterprise is filled with names like William Carey, Hudson Taylor, John Paton, David Livingstone and others, whom their generations deemed mad. Their dedication went beyond the understanding of those who loved the sufficiency and ease of contemporary life... And yet, in the final analysis, who are the fools ? Are they not the complacent, self-absorbed and self-sufficient who are so selfish that they tire of their own self-sufficiency, tire of their pleasures and even tire of themselves ?

Allow me to dedicate my life to you, with complete abandonment, Lord Jesus.
