The strength to face our difficulties

Indeed, this is what the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel said : It is in returning to me and rest that your salvation will be, it is in calm and confidence that your salvation will be. force, but you did not want it ! You said : No ! We will run away on horseback ! Isaiah 30.15-16

Tranquility, calm, confidence, rest... Aren't these words that resonate well in our ears ?

In reality, perhaps unconsciously, people don't want it. In this text, God has just warned the Judeans that Egypt will be of no help to them and that only he can save them.

"God wants to be expected with calm and confidence."

In fact, God wants them to expect him calmly and confidently. At all times and in all circumstances, we can trust him with the assurance that he will give us the strength to face our difficulties.

In verse 20 of Isaiah 30 it says : "The Lord will give you bread when you are in trouble and water in the midst of oppression."

Advice for today

There is no point in panicking and choosing to run away on horseback because we will get bogged down further. Yes, you think you have well-structured plans to get out of this, but my advice is to stop, check it out, and trust it.
