The tears and the prayer

"And, bitterness in the soul, she prayed to the Lord, and wept." 1 Samuel 1.10

A few years ago, I witnessed a scene between a father and a son who left me speechless.

Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.

It must be said that at the beginning the mission promised to be perilous. The son, a friend, had asked me to come and pray for his dad. A former boxer turned coach, a nice and polite man, however, you should not talk to him about God, otherwise ...

Convinced that God was able to reverse the trend, I decided to visit him. After a few minutes of conversation about the Christian life, I felt it was time to go to the basics by asking him if he was willing to entrust his life to Jesus. His answer was unequivocal : yes !

His son, who was present at the scene, was very moved, and said to me with tears : I have begun to pray for my father for seven years, and I have to dispute as soon as I speak the Gospel to him. hui, it is certain that this is the time of God.

Each year, Anne was in the habit of going to the house of the Lord to pour out her heart. One of the reasons for her sadness was that "the Lord made her barren" (1 Samuel 1: 6).

Not having a child was a real burden for her and she was inconsolable. Tears and prayer were, in his eyes, the only way to change things. God had to intervene !

"The Lord remembered her. In the course of the year, Ann became pregnant, and she bore a son, whom she called Samuel, for she said to him, I have asked of the LORD" (1 Samuel 1: 19-20).

The pain Anne felt may be yours right now. These difficult moments in your life sadden you to the point that you do not know what to do except to weep and pray before God.

Believe me, no prayer remains silent before him and none of your tears is ignored by him. So do not despair, for it is absolutely certain that the day of your answer is coming !

"Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy." (Psalms 126: 5).

A prayer for today

Father, I thank you because you always answer my prayers. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
