"You do not know what your life tomorrow will be a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes You should say instead : If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that. " Jacques 4.14-15
Life smiled at Henry Ford. Despite competition becoming increasingly fierce, his company remained number one in automotive construction.
Put your trust in God. Have faith in him.
He did not conceal his satisfaction while visiting the Ford exhibit in New York in 1928 with his son Edsel and inventor Thomas Edison. Its new car, the Model A was introduced on the occasion of this exhibition and Henry Ford seemed overflowing with confidence. He said : "Everything is fine and nothing to suggest that the current prosperity may not last."
Many men at the time were convinced that their prosperity would never end. They had no idea that a few months later, the world economy would collapse and the Great Depression would change everything.
We quickly forget that our life can change overnight. That the unexpected often happens. That the course of events often take us by surprise.
For many people, this uncertainty can be a source of anxiety, worry and fear. But for believers, it is a reminder that none of us knows what will happen tomorrow. That our lives are like "a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes." We must place our trust in God and build our lives on it.
The Bible reminds us that if we do not know the future, God, he knows. In fact he announced "from the beginning what comes afterwards" (Isaiah 46.10).
Today, refuse to be overwhelmed by fear and anxiety by thinking about the future. rather put your trust in God. Have faith in him. You can rely on him.
A Prayer for Today
Father, thank you because you know the future. I entrust my life. Help me to be faithful throughout my life. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
