"[Elijah] said to his servant, Go up, therefore, look toward the sea It went up, he looked and said. There is nothing Elijah said seven times.. Returns" 1 Kings 18.43



Elijah had spoken : the famine would end. He ordered his servant to go and look towards the sea to see the fulfillment of this prophecy. But when the servant looked, he saw nothing that could confirm it. He did not just looked at once or twice, but seven times. He probably wondered if his master was mistaken. But the prophet reassured each time, telling him to return.
Do not give up if you encounter obstacles or delays the fulfillment. God is faithful. His word is true !

Finally, the seventh trip, he saw something. Oh ! nothing very remarkable, a simple little cloud. But these were the beginnings of the fulfillment of the prophecy of Elijah. Every word was true ! And it was fulfilled on time.

How often do not we do this kind of experience ! We read God's Word, we hear his voice. We move forward in faith, and we obey. But perhaps we not see immediate results. Instead of solutions, we believe that the problems multiply. Instead of victory, we feel that we encounter more opposition or defeat.

Under these conditions, it is easy to give up or become discouraged. To get angry. We may think that we have not heard God correctly. Or we have misunderstood. Or that our faith is vain. In times like these, let us remember the importance of faith and obedience, and perseverance of Elijah's servant.

Whatever the situation you're facing, remember that God's Word is always true. But it does not necessarily fulfilled by your calendar. You can trust in God and his Word. Act with faith and be persistent. Do not give up if you encounter obstacles or delays the fulfillment. God is faithful. His word is true !

A Prayer for Today

Father, I give you all the situations I face now. I believe you will act. I believe in you. Help me to serve you and to lead a life that pleases you. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
