The throne of the grace

Let us then come boldly to the throne of the grace to obtain compassion and find grace to be rescued at the right time. Hebrews 4:16

Prayer is simply a two-way conversation between you and God. Thousands of people pray only when they are under intense stress or in danger, overwhelmed by uncertainty. I was in planes when an engine died ; then people began to pray. I spoke to soldiers who told me that they had never prayed before being in the middle of the battle. There seems to be an instinct in man to pray in difficult times. We know "there are no atheists in firing holes", but the kind of Christianity that fails to penetrate our daily lives will never change the world. Develop the power of prayer. Man is more powerful when he is praying than when he is behind the most powerful weapons. A nation is more powerful when it unites in sincere prayer to God than when its resources are channeled to defensive weapons. The answers to all our problems can be obtained by contact with Almighty God.

Prayer for the day

My time spent praying with you, dear Lord, is the highlight of my day. To know you are waiting for this communion to humiliate me. Yet you say I can come boldly - that's what I'm doing now, knowing you hear me !
