The treasure hidden within you

“We carry this treasure in earthen vessels, so that this great power may be attributed to God and not to us.” 2 Corinthians 4.7

God has assigned each of us a talent that He would like us to use in order to accomplish His purposes. But this talent can sometimes be buried under layers of years of failures, accumulated fears and doubts, not to mention a good dose of lack of self-confidence. Perhaps you are aware of this hidden talent, without knowing how to highlight it! Maybe you've flitted from church to church, relationship to relationship, hoping to find someone who would recognize your talent and help you bring it to fruition. If so, then listen carefully to these words : “We bear this treasure... so that this great power may be attributed to God.” Only the One who placed this treasure within you knows exactly where it is and can bring it to fulfillment. A destiny that delays fulfillment is Satan's greatest happiness. If you prevent God from developing this hidden talent in you, you will end up feeling frustrated, your life will be a shadow of what it could have been, and you will constantly make bad decisions. The reality is that within you is hidden such a treasure that Satan will do anything to steal it from you. Have no illusions about his intentions. Jesus said he “comes only to steal” (John 10:10). Do you think a burglar would be interested in a house that has no valuables in it ? Your talent is still raw, like a diamond in its dross, buried under years of doubt, unconfessed sins, deplorable habits, regrets and disappointments, but God is able to take formless clay. and create a wonder from it ! Think for a second : God created our planet out of nothing, so imagine what He can do with something that already exists, even if you feel too weak and useless! He sees the treasure in you, as He saw in the disciple who had just denied Him three times, the future pillar of the young Church of Jerusalem, after His departure from this earth. So start your day by praying : “Father, help me recognize and release the talents You have placed within me, and grant me the privilege to use them for Your glory.”
