The treasure hunt !

Isaiah 43.10 (BFC) - My purpose is for you to know, believe and understand who I am.

I don't know what motivates you to pray and read the Word of God, but I know what motivates God. All Scripture has only one goal, which God Himself states : To know Him ! Behind the spiritual truths that the Bible teaches, there is an even greater purpose than understanding these truths, and that is to understand God. Is it possible ? Certainly not without the Spirit of God ! But with the Holy Spirit, proportionately, we can understand who God is. Isn't He the One who searches the depths of God (1 Corinthians 2.10).

Do you know that this is the very foundation of eternal life ? John 17.3 tells us : "Now eternal life is that they know you, the one true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ." This is our treasure hunt.

My beloveds, we need to review our motivation in our relationship with the Creator. Too many children of God seek this relationship only out of a desire for personal satisfaction. After all, believing in God is practical : it satisfies the thought of eternity that is in every man (Ecclesiastes 3:11), it gives insurance against all risks, including hell, and it gives a certain conduct of moral living. Understand that all of this is not bad in itself, but... what God wants is for us to know Him !

I will never tire of taking Job's experience as an example. He had heard of God, but after his trial he saw Him (Job 42.5). It must be boiling in our hearts : “I want to see you Lord ! Miracles are wonderful, but I want to see You Lord ! Bible knowledge is great, but I want to know You Lord !

Lord my soul yearns for You, I want more of You ! I want to know, believe and understand who You are ! My treasure is You !".

Good reflection.
