Jesus told many people, "Your faith saved you," healing their sickness. This faith was about divine healing. On the other hand, before the woman placing a perfume at her feet, and weeping because of her sin and her love for Jesus, he says : "Your sins are forgiven", and then : "Your faith has saved you". Someone may have faith for a cure while dying in their sins. It is the real faith for salvation that saves from sin.
James will speak to Christians saying : "The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up ; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven" (James 5:15). Paul will also say to Timothy : "However, she will be saved through her offspring if she perseveres with simplicity in faith, love and progress in holiness" (1 Timothy 2:15).
Like John the Baptist, Jesus preached the renunciation of dead works : "No, I tell you. But if you do not repent, you will all perish too" (Luke 13: 3). As we have already said, we are surrounded by tens of millions of religious people who think they are saved. What was John the Baptist's message to them ? "Produce therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and do not start to say in yourselves : We have Abraham for father !" (Luke 3: 8)
The apostles preached the same message : "Repent and convert, that your sins may be blotted out..." (Acts 3:19). Jesus says again : "If anyone comes to me, and if he does not hate his father, his mother, his wife, his children, his brothers, and his sisters, and even his own life, he can not be my disciple" (Luke 14:26). It is not enough to believe or say "yes" or "amen" to Jesus. Not only must we have faith from the heart, but this faith must produce fruit worthy of repentance, and for that we must repent, not just believe ! If today you think you are lost, you can repent and convert to God, right now.
