The value of divine favor ! (3)

"Sing to the Lord, you who are faithful... For His anger lasts a moment, but His favor all life" Psalm 30.5-6

God can grant you His favor in the most bizarre places and times, or through the most surprising people. The path that led Joseph to the Egyptian throne was made up of false accusations and long periods in prison. The chances of a private inmate becoming the next prime minister of our country are pretty slim, unless you are Joseph whose history God wrote ! “The pharaoh was angry with his two officers, the great person in charge of drinks and the chief baker. He had them put in the house of the captain of the guard, in the prison, where Joseph was locked up” (Genesis 40.2-3). While detained there, both had a dream which Joseph was able to interpret, and in both cases what he foretold happened. Joseph's reputation was thus established, and when Pharaoh himself was troubled by a dream which none of his advisers could explain, the butler remembered Joseph and told his master about him. This is how Joseph was brought to interpret Pharaoh's dream, helped him prepare his country for the next seven years of famine, and was elevated to the number two position in the kingdom. Joseph's old dream had come true. But notice what people God used to accomplish it : a baker and a drink manager. On a spiritual level, God will use bakers to bless you because they know the right ingredients needed to bake a good cake. Some of the ingredients they use aren't exactly tasty, salt, flour or baking powder, but the end product is delicious ! God can also use butlers or butlers, because they know when to open the right door to your guests. Keep your mind open to any opportunity and especially to the voice of God, for He alone can grant you His favor even in the most incredible places and through the strangest people !
