The virus of sin, the vaccine of Christ

Searching the Scriptures

He who did not know sin, he made to become sin for us so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21

With the Covid crisis, the world had started talking and dreaming about a vaccine. So I was more interested in it than usual and found this definition interesting on Wikipedia :

"A vaccine is a preparation administered to a human in order to stimulate his immune system and to develop protective immunity against the infectious agent of a particular disease. The active substance of a vaccine can be an agent attenuated by a killed or weakened form of the virus."

It is interesting that in order to be cured we need to be injected with a product that contains "a killed or weakened form of the virus".

It reminds me of Jesus, who, in order to heal us, had to be injected with the virus of our sins. Yes, "he who did not know sin he (the Father) made to be sin for us, that in him we might become the righteousness of God" (2 Corinthians 5:21).

And it's not over ! When we believe in him, in his death and resurrection, we not only receive his righteousness, becoming in him the righteousness of God, but also his Spirit : "We have all been baptized in one and the same Spirit to form one body. and we have all drunk from one Spirit" (1 Corinthians 12:13).

The Holy Spirit, like a vaccine, comes to fill our soul, spread his holiness and protect us by marking us with his seal ! (2 Corinthians 1.22)

Listen to the voice of God

Let’s take the time to listen to what God means. Let the Lord communicate to you the immense love he has for you, to the point of sacrificing himself for you.

Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : “I let you, Holy Spirit, take control of every part of my being in order to be like Jesus and to become perfect as the “Heavenly Father is perfect”” (Matthew 5:48).

Praise God

To praise God is to show him our gratitude. What are your subjects of recognition today ? Take a moment to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our route for the day comes to an end. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Thank you, Lord, for your sacrifice ! Thine be the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
