The Voice of the Holy Spirit

Searching the Scriptures

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says : Today if you will hear his voice, do not harden your hearts. Hebrews 3:7-11

Being led by the voice of the Holy Spirit is different from being led by the peace of God in your own spirit. The voice of the Holy Spirit is much louder than the still, small voice of God in your spirit.

I remember the first time I heard his voice when I was 15 years old. My mother was in the hospital recovering from surgery. I was driving a car, even though I wasn’t supposed to be since I was only 15. As I pulled into the parking lot, this voice I’m talking about said : “I have called you to preach.”

The voice was so serious and authoritative that I stopped. I looked in the back seat to see if anyone was in the car. I was shocked and said : “Can you repeat that ?” And he did.

Again, I looked in the back seat, but no one was there. I looked to see if anyone was around the car. Then I said : “No !” Because I didn’t want to be a preacher. Of course, I ended up accepting the call to the ministry !

When you learn to listen to the Holy Spirit, He will guide you to the truth. He will help you understand the reality of situations beyond what you can see in the natural.

The voice of the Holy Spirit has saved my life many times because He knows what is going to happen, even when we don’t know it.

Listening to God’s Voice

Do you want to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit ? Take some time to listen to what God wants to tell you about it.

Praying is simple. Talk to God as you would with your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord God, I love you and I would like to follow you in all areas of my life. Come speak to my heart through your Holy Spirit, that I may know with certainty what you expect of me. Amen !"

Praise God

If you have already heard and followed this "voice of the Holy Spirit", praise God who spoke to you and guided you. If you do not know it yet, praise your God, tell him your confidence in his word "rhema" and lend your inner ear. Because yes, God still speaks to his children today !

Act today

Today, reject the following thought : "God never speaks to me". Dare to start a dialogue with him as with a loved one present near you. Tell him that you want to hear his voice, then be silent and listen to him. At some point, God will pleasantly surprise you !

Honoring the Lord

Our journey for today is over. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Thank you Holy Spirit, your voice is the best guide for my life ! To you be the kingdom, the power and the glory, amen !"
