The wall of our cliches

If we want to evangelize effectively, we have to go beyond the walls of our own cliches. Indeed, we must be careful not to transfer our own experience to the lives of those we want to lead to Jesus. Some, whose conversion has been swift and radical, often expect the people they evangelize to convert in the same way as they do. So be careful, because this cliche can quickly become an obstacle to evangelization.

We must never lose sight of the fact that each conversion is unique, that it follows a unique itinerary because each individual is unique.

And even if the message of God is the same for all, God acts in a different way depending on the people. God is flexible, so let's be too.

The Lord can be revealed everywhere and in different circumstances. For him, no matter where ! It can not be locked between the four walls of a church. But whatever the place, it always reveals itself at the right moment. Here are some examples :

. Jairus, the head of a synagogue, heard the Good News at home during a meal of which Jesus was the guest of honor (Luke 8:40-56).

. Zacchaeus, a tax collector from the city of Jericho, met Jesus while he was hiding in a tree. Then he received Jesus at home and his life changed (Luke 19:1-10).

. The whole village of Bethany was confronted with the power of the Gospel in a rather unusual place, a cemetery. Indeed, that day, Jesus raised his old friend Lazarus (John 11:1-44).
