The Word of God is powerful

"The Gospel is a power of God for the salvation of anyone who believes." Romans 1.16

A single sentence of the Word of God can overthrow a man and change him completely. Such is the power of the word of God as testified by this story that a man related at a house meeting :

In a few days I discovered in Christ my Savior and my Master.

"My story is not ordinary," he said : "I was a pickpocket, and one day I saw a man who had a well-rounded shape in the back pocket of his trousers. passed into my pocket.

But when I reached my house, I looked : it was a book. Out of vexation, I threw him into a corner, but afterwards, out of simple curiosity, I opened it and began to read it. In a few days I discovered in Christ my Savior and my Master."

After hearing this testimony, a representative of the Bible Society who was present was very interested and at the end of the service he asked to see the New Testament in question.

It was indeed the one he had worn over him for years and which he had considered lost !

Does this not prove once again the power of the Word of God to transform the lives of men ? What has this Word done to you in your life ?

A prayer for today

O Lord, fill me with your wisdom and your strength to spread your Word around me, she who does me good every day.
