"Who believes the Son has eternal life ; But who disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides upon him. " John 3. 36

"Jesus ... frees us from the anger that comes". 1 Thessalonians 1. 10

One Christian writer remarked : "At a time when men sold themselves to the gods of money, pride, sex, permissiveness, the Church confined itself to proclaiming the love of God without anything Almost, of his judgment... Our modern society forbids us to speak of the wrath of God, and Christians have finally submitted to this taboo by accepting no longer to address this subject. Yet one of the things that strikes us when we read the Bible is the insistence of the Holy Spirit to speak of divine wrath in the TA. As in the N.T. What are the characters of divine wrath ?
The anger of God is not like that of man, a loss of self-control, rage that is born of impotence or wounded pride, or merely an outburst of ill-humor. No, the anger of God always has a judicial character: it is the attitude of a judge rendering justice in a rigorous way. "The day of wrath," Paul tells us, "is also the day of" the revelation of the righteous judgment of God, which shall render every man according to his works "(Rom.2: 5).
The wrath of God is therefore the expression of his divine justice, full of majesty and glory, against the rebellion of man. The believer, like Paul, rejects the idea that God could be unjust when he gives free rein to his anger (Rom.3: 5).
"The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and iniquity of men who possess the truth while living in iniquity" (Rom.1.18). If the day of anger approaches, then how to escape ?
Many good works could not suffice ; Not one can erase a sin. The only way is the person of Jesus "who frees us from the anger that comes". We are justified by the means of faith, that is, by trusting fully in Jesus and His work (see Romans 3:24, 25, 5, 9).
