There is no other path to salvation

According to Judaism, salvation depends on a decision made on the day of judgment based on one's moral conduct. Hinduism envisions a series of reincarnations that allow the human soul to ascend into the cosmos. Buddhism wants to guide you through life by following an eight-step Noble Path and relying on the Four Noble Truths. Muslims walk the path to Allah by obeying the Five Pillars of Faith. Many philosophers consider life after death to be only a mystery or worse a myth, “a great leap into the unknown”. Many lump together Jesus, Moses, Muhammad and Confucius and all the other great spiritual leaders of the past. Jesus said : “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Me” (John 14.6). Many say : “All roads lead to heaven.” Really ? The Buddhists widen their eyes towards Nirvana which they only hope to reach after 547 reincarnations. Christians believe that we live only one life, die once, and then live an eternity in the presence of God. Humanists deny the possibility of a God creating life. Jesus declares that He is the source of life. Fortune tellers seek to read the palms of their hands. Christians consult their Bibles. Hindus conceive of God as an impersonal and pluralistic being. Followers of Christ believe “there is only one God...” (1 Corinthians 8:4). All religions other than Christianity declare : “You can earn your salvation !” Instead, Jesus says : “Only My death on the cross can save you.” Not all roads lead to Rome, not all ships sail to Australia, not all roads lead to God. Jesus traced a lonely path that those who believe they can save themselves cannot tread. He opened a unique path that is not encumbered by human efforts. He offers us an invitation like no other : “The work that God expects of you is that you believe in Him whom He has sent” (John 6:29). He died for us to live. He simply invites us to believe in Him !
