There is still room !

A man organized a great feast and invited many people. At the time of the feast he sent his servant to say to the guests, Come, for everything is already ready. But all without exception began to excuse him... Then the master of the house, angry, said to his servant : Go quickly to the squares and streets of the city and bring here the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame. The servant said : Master, what you have ordered has been done, and there is still room. Then the master said to the servant : Go out into the ways and along the hedges, and whatever you find, force them to come in, so that my house may be full. Luke 14:16-23

As he reads this parable, the believer immediately thinks of the publication of the gospel in the world. Let's look at what applies to us 21st century Christians :

Isn't this great supper the general invitation of a loving God who is pleased to call his creature to Himself to bless her ? Israel had the privilege of being invited first, but the Word tells us about people at the ends of the earth who are also invited (Isaiah 45:22).

The Jewish people as a whole refused the offer of salvation. Likewise today, in peoples who call themselves Christians, many people are indifferent to the offer of God's grace. The rest of the parable shows that only the unbelief or ill will of man puts a limit on the grace of God. You don't have to be a thief or a murderer to be lost, you just have to decline the invitation.

God wants to fill his house. He doesn't push anyone away. All are invited, without exception : the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame come to this great dinner. But there is still room. The invitation becomes more pressing : Go along the paths and along the hedges, and make the people come in, so that my house is full. These are the marginalized, the excluded who must be forced to enter, not by violence, but by the persuasive force of love, in the assurance that they will never regret it.

Let us respond to the Master's command : Let us proclaim the Gospel in the streets of our towns or villages and in the roads of our countryside, for he wants his house to be filled.
