These friends who make us grow

Searching the Scriptures

Jesus said to him : My friend... Matthew 26.50

Around you, God is raising up "friends" to help you grow in your character and ministry. As Judas has just betrayed Jesus and a cohort of Romans is accompanying him to seize the Lord, Jesus says to him : “my friend”.

When Jesus sees him, he calls him "my friend" ! Let no one be mistaken, Jesus sees clearly in the apostle's intentions. He has known from the first day he called Judas to follow him that the latter would end up betraying him. Regardless, Jesus enlisted him.

When you pray to ask God to give you patience, how does He act ? Does he pull out a magic wand ? Or, does he put someone in your path to test your patience ? Can you learn perseverance without the obstacles ? How will you learn to forgive without first knowing the betrayal ?

Look at Joseph, he became the prime minister of the land of Egypt because one day "a friend" threw him into a well and another accused him falsely... All "these friends" have, without the know, led Joseph to his destiny as a great politician.

Through Judas's betrayal, the cross was already looming before Jesus, but this cross also announced the resurrection and the forgiveness of sins.

By accepting this principle of growth, your vision will change and you will be much more at peace. When you see a "Judas" approaching you to kiss you, then just like Jesus, you will be able to say to him without any bitterness : "my friend".

Listen to the voice of god

Let's take the time to listen to what God means. If you are living in a difficult, heartbreaking friendship relationship, let God comfort you now and advise you on how to grow.

Praying is simple. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and He can hear everything.

Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, help me to love the “Judah” you place on my path. Help me to realize that they are there for me to grow in maturity, to learn to forgive as you do. have done it with Judah, may my character be shaped in your image, and may I fully fulfill the destiny you have planned for me."

Praise God

To praise God is to show Him our gratitude. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a moment to thank the Lord for this.

Act today

Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.

Honor the lord

Our route for the day comes to an end. Let us pray together to honor God.

"Lord, you know all things and you see much further than me. You know the hearts of men. I trust you to place on my path the people called to walk with me so that I accomplish the works prepared in advance. for me. Thine be the kingdom, the power and the glory forever. So be it !"
