"I beg you for my child, whom I have begotten in my chains, Onesimus, who once was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me." Philemon 1.10-11
Useless, good for nothing, it is sure that Onesimus had to maintain this kind vis-à-vis its own individual thoughts.
He, Philemon's slave intended to serve for life. What arduous future!
God wants to use you as you are.
So as to ward off the spell, he decided to run away from his master's house with the hope of finding a better life.
And he was right, because he was going to cross on his way Paul, the apostle of grace who will share the Gospel to him and bring him to realize the real meaning of life and how it can be useful to God.
One day at church, my pastor gave me the responsibility prayer time preceding the Sunday morning service.
For me, who for years was thought to be someone useless it was just wonderful.
Because beyond the man, in my eyes, there was the voice of God speaking to my heart and say, "My child, you are useful to me" "
If anyone is in Christ he is a new creature.
Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. "2 Corinthians 5:17
The vagaries of life may have aroused in you some feelings that lead you to believe that you are use to anyone.
It was crushed up and put away leaving you accept that you are worthless.
Result: you actually believe you are useless!
Let me tell you, you are not alone in having had such reasoning.
Ask the question to Christians in your church, or listen to the testimonies you realize.
The truth is that everyone has decided not to remain prisoners of the legacy of their past.
They believed in God's call and have become useful in his service. "I with Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you.
They will tell you everything that is happening here. "Colossians 4.9
God wants to use you as you are and whatever task he wishes to entrust you take the decision to enter his service.
Incidentally, do you know Onesimus means useful!
This is exactly what you are to God. "I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalms 139.14
A commitment for today
Lord, use me! I want to be Onesimus (useful) in your work. Amen! Yannis Gautier
