The stone of Jacob - By Paul Calzada

"Jacob arrived in a place where he spent the night, because the sun had set and he took a stone, put it under his pillow, and lay down in that place." Genesis 28:11.

 "And Jacob rose early and took the stone that he had put under his head and set it up for a pillar and poured oil on top of it" Genesis 28:18 "

This stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house; and I give you a tenth of everything you give me. "Genesis 28:22.

In this chapter 28, three times, we are told that particular stone. This stone has three messages to be heard: You were chosen to be the temple of the Lord.

The first message it communicates to us is this: "I welcomed the head of Jacob, in this desert place on me, Jacob found rest and God's vision Then you who are a living stone.. are you this stone on which the injured, the lonely, the fugitive, who is alone in the desert, who is wrapped in darkness and darkness, who deceived his brother, who was deceived, who scared, who flees the wrath of his brother ... can find with you the rest and a revelation from God that will mark his life?

Will you be the one who will tell the gate of heaven to these pilgrims lost in the night? "

The second message it brings us is: "I'm not as comfortable as a pillow or foam pillow, but despite my hardness, Jacob was able to find not only rest but also a magnificent vision.

God does not always reveal the comfort and well-being but it also became known, when everything is hard and difficult "It was after a series of terrible trials that Job was able to say." My ears had heard speak about you ; but now mine eye seeth thee "Job 42.5.

You who are a living stone is not trying to water down the gospel message, remember that being a disciple of Christ is to accept the cross, because it only opens the gate of heaven.

Finally, this rock could add: "Be an anointed stone as I was anointed, the anointing of the Spirit be upon you, because do not forget, this is after receiving the anointing, that Jacob I said to the house of God.
