Time is so precious

Searching the Scriptures

Teach us to count our days well, so that our hearts may reach wisdom ! Psalm 90.12

What does it mean to count our days ? Well, let me ask you another question. If I asked you : "What in your life do you find it most difficult to manage ? What do you miss most often ? Or don't have enough ?" How would you respond ?

You might think about money, but in my own experience there is something much harder to deal with that I miss more often than money, and it's time.

I firmly believe that time is the most difficult thing in our lives to manage. My thinking is that the administration of our time is arguably the supreme test of our self-discipline and the authenticity of our Christianity. Therefore, I pray like the psalmist : "Teach me to count my days well." Teach me to set my priorities correctly, teach me to give the necessary time to the most important things.

You see, the time spent on your priorities indicates what you really value. Lower priority things will likely end up at the bottom of the list. If you don't prioritize the things that really matter to you, your life will be messed up. In this way, you as well as I must echo this prayer : "Teach me to count my days well, to evaluate the right priorities, teach me to manage my time."

Listen to the voice of god

Let's take the time to listen to what God means. God helps us manage time better by putting priorities on our hearts. Ask God, what are they ?

Praying is simple. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and He can hear everything.

Here is an example prayer : "Lord, thank you for this thought, help me to manage my time well and to assess the right priorities. Help me to fully understand what your priorities are and to align with them !"

Praise God

To praise God is to show Him our gratitude. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a moment to thank the Lord for this.

Act today

Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.

Honor the lord

Our route for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor God.

"Lord, I thank you for this time of pause where I could hear what you had to say to me in relation to the good priorities to be put in place. I choose to listen to you from now on, because you are the master of time. Yours, be the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. So be it !"
