To all the detractors !
Matthew 7:2 – For with the judgment by which you judge, people will judge you, and with the measure with which you measure, they will measure you.
I am surprised how little Christians pay attention to this warning ! They seem to completely forget that sooner or later what they sow will come back to them in abundant harvest (Galatians 6:7). How many hurtful words, questionable jokes and rejection stem from a spirit of judgment. And we think that all this will not affect our lives ? When harvest time comes, we are quite surprised at what happens to us !
No my beloved : judging others always has a price and the devil will send us the bill sooner or later. Worse, one day every man will have to give an account before God for all the empty words he has spoken (Matthew 12:36). By peddling backbiting and slander, we are doing a very bad job and are directly inspired by hell.
Remember Job's “friends” who, in their narrow view of God's justice, ultimately “blasphemed” against God Himself (Job 42:8). Why do we often do this ? Because we have forgotten where God took us from! We have been cleansed, restored and justified and we use this grace to look down on others ? We are all "needy" whom the Lord has lifted from the dunghill (Psalms 113:7), and the memory of our own forgiven sins should fill us with fear of speaking ill of others.
Each morning, think about this verse while saying this prayer : “Lord, I want to be magnanimous like You. Let no judgment of others enter my heart, and let my mouth be a blessing and not a curse” (James 3:10).
Good reflection.
