To believe or not to believe ?

But these were written so that you would believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God and that by believing you would have life in his name. John 20:31

We are used to distinguishing between those who believe in God and those who do not believe in God... It is also necessary to clarify what "to believe" means. We can believe in a supreme divine being, but distant, or in a god that we forged in his own way... And for those who say they do not believe, in fact they express a belief, that God does not exist. However, they are obliged to recognize that they believe anyway, whether it is in fate, or chance, or in man, or in Mother Nature, or in themselves...

However, not all beliefs are created equal because they do not have the same impact in our lives. Believing that the universe is ruled by blind chance doesn't help me in my daily life. But believing that this Universe is the work of an almighty God who cares about each of us changes my outlook on life. Because I believe that God showed his love by offering his Son Jesus Christ on the Cross to bear the weight of my faults, so I have the assurance that he has reconciled me to him and that he is doing me her child. Because I believe that Jesus is truly risen, so I am convinced of his loving presence and influence in my life. To believe or not to believe in Jesus, the Son of God, that makes all the difference !
