To hell with guilt !

Searching the Scriptures

So there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8.1

Recently someone told me : "A few years ago I made a mistake. Although I asked God for forgiveness, I feel unworthy and terribly guilty !"

Who has never felt guilty ? Torment, remorse, shame... Guilt is one of the most painful feelings to live with and the devil is always happy to bring out certain files for you to remind you of your faults of yesterday ! He wants you to keep paying the bill when Christ has already paid it for you : "He erased the document of our debts that accused us... and he destroyed it by nailing it to the cross." (Colossians 2:14)

Why do you feel guilty when God does not condemn you ? Your mistakes yesterday, he has already forgotten. In the Bible we read this : "It is I, yes it is I who forgive your faults, because I want to and I will not remember it" ; "You will cast all their sins to the bottom of the sea." (Micah 7:19)

Accept yourself as God accepts you, and now reject the accusations of your adversary, the devil.

Listen to the voice of god

Let's take the time to listen to what God means.

Maybe this text echoes a particular situation in your life... or you are feeling guilty about something from the past.

Ask God what past events in your life still make you feel guilty.

Praying is simple. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and He can hear everything.

Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, I want to put an end to this guilt once and for all. I ask your forgiveness for my sins... (take the time to ask God for forgiveness if the Holy Spirit reminds you of a given situation)... I believe that you revive me in Christ and that you have forgiven all my faults and that you do not remember them any more. Thank you for your love."

Praise God

To praise God is to show Him our gratitude. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a moment to thank the Lord for this.

Act today

Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our route for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Lord, I will no longer allow myself to be condemned by the devil. Thank you for removing the guilt from my heart. I live again in Christ who makes all things new in me. Thine are the kingdom, the power and the glory forever. So be it !"
