To know the fullness of God

The Word of God reveals how God delivers us from the pursuit of sin in our lives.

"As his divine power has given us all that regards life and piety, by the knowledge of him who has called us by glory and by virtue, by whom he has given us the very great and precious promises, so that by them you are partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through covetousness" (2Peter 1: 3-4 - Darby).

What a wonderful and liberating truth! God comes to us when we are deceived and bound, with powerful promises of full and complete deliverance. He says : "I have sworn to deliver you and keep you from sin, and I will give you a heart to obey. Now, let My promises seize you !"

We are led out of sin when we seize the promises of God. Think about it for a moment. Peter says that the believers to whom he addressed in this epistle had fled the corruption that is in the world. These Christians had escaped sin because they were given divine power - life and holiness - through their faith in His promises !

Beloved, your Father wants you to know the fullness of joy in Christ. Allow the Holy Spirit to penetrate deep into your being and remove everything that is not of Christ. Then, this joy will burst in you !

Pray to the Lord now : "O Father, I agree with you concerning my sin. The stench of my compromises has risen to Heaven and I know that it must be removed immediately ! I receive your divine and loving ultimatum and I lay everything before you. Burn all that is bad in me and Your promises take hold of my heart."
