Today you will be with Me !

Luke 23:43 - Jesus answered him : "I say it to you in truth, today you will be with me in paradise".

A few years ago a childhood friend came to see me. He had known the Lord but had strayed from it for many years. He came to urgently ask me to pray for his 21-year-old nephew with terminal leukemia. I went there promptly. The young man was really painful to see! He was very thin and kept vomiting during our conversation. I told him about Jesus, salvation on the cross, forgiveness of sins and at the end of the interview I brought him in a prayer of repentance. Then I prayed for his healing.

He was not cured, on the contrary, two days later he died. However, just before he died, he said to his mother : “Mom, there are angels coming to get me !".

This morning I would like to draw some encouragement from this experience. The first is that like our robber on the cross, anything is still possible even at the point of death. The second is that this young man is much better near God than in this sick body which served as his earthly tent. Finally, my childhood friend, even though he was distant from God, was able to be an instrument in His hands for his nephew to be brought to salvation.

If you don't know the Lord Jesus yet, don't wait until the end to meet Him. And if you are far from Him, come back, He is waiting for you with open arms.
