Too occupied ?

"Crush them under work ! I want them to be very busy and forget these lies !" Exodus 5: 3 and 9

"I want them to be very busy !" These words are those of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, who reduced the children of Israel to cruel slavery. When Moses, the deliverer sent by God, asks him to let his people go, Pharaoh becomes angry and decides to double the workload of the Hebrews in order to divert them from the promise of freedom that is made to them.

Ask God to help you make a difference in your schedule ... Working time has declined considerably since the last century. Yet we have never been so busy ! In almost every home, dad and mum work, we run from nursery to school, from work to supermarket and so on. And then, when there's a bit of respite, the leisure company takes over to fill the remaining hours to keep us in mind : movies, shows, screens, trips, etc.

How many press from one activity to another without taking time to hear the voice of God, the message of freedom that is addressed to them by the cross ? And among those who have accepted Christ in their lives, to listen to God, to read his word, to pray, to go to church, to serve God and his neighbor is a challenge and a battle. Are busy !

You live the same as the Hebrews still today ! Your deliverer, Christ, has come to this earth to do you good, heal you and bring you freedom (Acts 10:38), you who were a prisoner of the evil one. But the king of this world, the devil, does everything to make you forget this powerful promise and even make you believe that it is a lie, so that you are very busy !

You busy ? Okay. But you still have the opportunity to decide to put God first in your daily life and make it your priority ! If you want to put pebbles in a jar, start by putting the biggest and then finish by the smallest. If you do the opposite, there may not be a place for the bigger one at the end. Ask God to help you make the difference in your schedule and you will see that you will not be too busy.

A decision for today

Lord, I refuse to be too busy to forget that you have freed me from my enemy and that you are my priority. Give me your wisdom so that I may put you first in my life !
