True colors

Indeed, God is attentive to the conduct of man, he sees under his feet. Job 34:21

There is an old story about a pig... The farmer brought the pig into the house. He gave her a bath, polished her hooves, put a little Chanel on her, put a ribbon around her neck and placed it in the living room. The pig looked good. He made a nice pet and companion for a few minutes. But as soon as the door was opened, the pig left the living room and jumped into the first puddle of mud he could find. Why ? Because in his head he is still a pig. His nature had not changed. He had changed outwardly but not internally...

You can take a man - dress him up, put him in the front row of the church and he looks almost like a saint. He can cheat even his best friends for a while, but then put him in his office or club on Saturday night and you'll see his true nature come out again. Why does he act this way ? Because his nature has not changed. He is not born again.

Prayer for the day

Almighty God, there are times when I depress my Christian walk and slip into the quagmire again. Purify me and strengthen me, for Jesus' sake.
