Understanding where is the battlefield

If indeed we live in human reality, we are not fighting in a purely human way. Indeed, the weapons with which we fight are not human, but they are powerful, thank God, to overthrow strongholds. We will overthrow reasonings and every obstacle that arrives with pride against the knowledge of God, and we hold every thought captive to obey Christ. 2 Corinthians 10.3-5

Our war against Satan takes place in the spiritual realm, which is why the weapons are spiritual and adapted to the context of the fight.

It is extremely important that we understand where the battle is going. Paul used several terms in 2 Corinthians to talk about the battlefield and our goals. In different translations we find different terms like : "imaginations", "reasoning", "speculations", "discussions", "knowledge", and "thought". Notice that all of these words refer to the sphere of thought.

"We absolutely need to understand that the battlefield is in our thoughts."

We absolutely need to understand that the battlefield is in our thoughts. Satan is waging a merciless war aimed at captivating the thoughts of the human race. He builds strongholds there, and as representatives of God it is our responsibility to use our spiritual weapons to tear down those strongholds in order to free our thoughts and bring them into captivity of obedience to Christ. What a staggering task this represents !

Satan deliberately and systematically builds strongholds in the minds of people. These resist the gospel truth, the Word of God, and reduce our ability to receive the gospel message.

A proclamation for today

Thank you Lord for the blood of Jesus. I proclaim that with his blood I break the strongholds that Satan has erected in my mind. I declare that Satan has no place in me, no power over me, nor any claim against me. Everything was settled by the blood of Jesus! Amen.
