Unparalleled justice

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, becoming a curse for us. Galatians 3:13

God treated his Son as he should deal with sin. He who sins is he who will die is it written in the Bible (Ezekiel 18.4). Now, Jesus agreed to bear our sins in his body on the cross (1 Peter 2:24) to atone for them, so that we might be forgiven and justified. Thus, through the death of Christ, the righteousness of God was fully manifested to every human being who recognizes himself as a sinner, repents, and believes that his sins were nailed with Christ on the cross.

The divine verdict, because of the Law of God, condemned us without appeal. But God, out of love for lost humanity, agreed to have the verdict turned against his Son. Jesus truly took our place to deliver us from the pain of living apart with God for eternity, cast into hell ! Who could understand such an act of justice ?

What love is this divine love for his rebellious creatures ! The apostle Paul writes on this subject : God was in Christ : he reconciled the world to himself by not charging men with their faults... We implore in the name of Christ : Be reconciled to God ! In fact, whoever did not know sin, he made it become sin for us so that in him we might become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:19-21). We did not deserve to be the objects of such grace !
