Visualize the reward

"Did you see Goliath come up against us ?" Said one of them, He comes again to insult Israel, and he who kills him will receive great wealth from the king, who will give him his own daughter in marriage and he will exonerate all his family from taxes. David asked the men who were standing around him : What shall we give to the one who will slaughter this Philistine, and wash the people of Israel with shame inflicted ? (...) David was told what was promised to him who killed the giant" 1 Samuel 17.25-27

While the soldiers are terrified in front of Goliath, David does not care about the stature of the giant. As soon as he arrives on the front and sees this colossus insulting the army of Israel, the first thing he asks is : "What shall we give to the one who will kill this Philistine ?". The Hebrew fighters enumerated him the rewards: the winner will have the right to marry the king's daughter (hence to become a member of the royal family). In addition, he will be paid a lot of money and he will benefit from a tax exemption.

David accepted the challenge! The young shepherd was certainly projected and saw the glory of the Lord be revealed, a nation be saved, his brothers be put in safety, the hand of the king's daughter be granted to him, money to be paid to him with the bonus of an exemption He had to say to himself : "Ok, I accept the mission, I love this reward !"

Most people see the obstacles ; few of them see the goals, the gain. This is precisely the difference between a person who bears fruit and one who does not. The first sees the impact and retribution of his risk taking and goes there... The second considers that the threat is too high, is afraid to launch and hides behind an apology.

What do you see ? The army saw Goliath, David saw God ! The army saw the problem, David saw what he could do to solve it ! We can not judge a situation on the basis of what we see. What we see is real, but it is not the ultimate reality.

When we expanded the Momentum Church, we took the back parking lot to extend it. At the moment, a large wall 10 meters high stood before us. However, even if this bulwark was undeniably true, it was not the final reality. Today, the wall was shot down, and where there were parked cars, there are now souls who praise Jesus.

Behind every Goliath, every wall, every mountain, every visible situation, there is an all-powerful God, overflowing with love. This reality, we must never forget it.

A prayer for today

Lord, I believe that behind my giant, there is the reward. Then I will not back down and I will advance with your grace.
