Waiting for Jesus

I would not preach a message about "waiting for the power of God" if I was not sure what was true. My wife, Kelly, and I have had such an experience. I have already written about our son Elliot, who was addicted to the heroine. At one point, he even found himself homeless. We tried to help him through rehabilitation programs and by contacting people who could reach him, but nothing ever touched him. Kelly and I cried many nights, until we fell asleep. This was one of the most difficult times in my life.

One night Kelly told me she had received something from the Lord and I could see that she was really clothed with something from God.

"I had a dream : Elliot was lying on the ground, unconscious. Jesus told me to raise him up, and when I did, his body was flabby in my arms. When Jesus took her from my arms, I was so relieved. But then Jesus turned away in such a way that I could not see Elliot.

"It disturbed me, but I felt strongly that the Lord was telling us," You can not do this on your own. You must stop interfering. You are not able to see it, but I do a work in Elliot that is hidden from you. "

A few weeks later, the Holy Spirit seized our son and transformed him. He completely redeemed Elliot and today is a faithful young witness for God.

My friends, if we fail today, is it because we do not wait for the power of God ? Is it because we "show" ourselves instead of "hiding" ourselves in prayer ? I urge you to wait for Jesus. When his words reach you through the Holy Spirit, murmuring : "Show yourself," there is nothing comparable in life.

On this day you will see the sky touching the Earth in such a way that you would never have imagined it. You will speak with more conviction, authority and audacity. And your enjoyment in walking with Jesus will not be comparable to anything you have ever experienced.
