"He that watcheth his mouth keepeth his soul : he that openeth wide his lips runs to destruction." Proverbs 13.3
We have all spoken words that we would have liked to repeat. The Bible says that he who watches his tongue protects his life. Indeed, our words determine the direction our life takes, and words spoken lightly soon mislead us.
Sow seeds of life by proclaiming the Word of God ... The Bible affirms that life and death are in the power of language. There is no neutral position : either our words sow seeds of life and productivity, or they spread ruin and destruction.
The time is right now to reflect on the words you are used to pronouncing and to make the decision to sow only good seeds. Sow seeds of life by proclaiming the Word of God on yourself and on those around you. Decide today to give glory to the Lord as you watch your words and protect your life.
A prayer for today
Father, I give you my thoughts, words and deeds. Help me, Holy Spirit, to lead a life that is pleasing to you in all respects. Help me to monitor my language and make sure that my life is always moving in the right direction. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
