What air do we breathe ?

A magazine headline read : “Can our air suit extraterrestrials ?" Question for science fiction fans, imagining extraterrestrials breathing the same air as us...

Unlikely, because we breathe an atmosphere adapted to our species, having 21% oxygen. If this rate were to drop, we would quickly be affected. Our brain and heart would suffer irreversible damage.

Have you ever asked yourself the question of who could have invented such an atmosphere allowing us to live ? Plants and trees partly produce the oxygen we breathe in, and absorb the carbon dioxide we breathe out. Isn't that wonderful ? The Bible says : God gives all human beings life and breath (Acts 17:25).

How to think that this would only be the result of chance ? The opening words of the Bible are clear : In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). We are not seeking to challenge the work of scientists. Knowing how God created all things, or how long it took him to do so, will not make us happier.

It is up to us to believe that the Bible is truly his Word, and that it is the truth given to us for our salvation and edification.
