What are you splashing on others ?

“Without faith it is impossible to please God.” Hebrews 11.6

The most important question in the eyes of God is this : “Are you going to trust me in everything ?” If you can't do that, don't expect an easy life ! You will never know the depth of a person's faith by watching their life unfold. Faith is like a bucket of water : you only find out if it is full by shaking it ! When life's difficulties overwhelm you, you can only pour out of your heart what fills it to the brim. Maybe you just lost your job or lost a lot of money. What do you splash your loved ones with ? Of doubt or of faith ? Have you just received bad news about your health ? Are your words full of fear or faith ? The intensity of someone's faith is not measured by his actions but by his words ! So learn to listen to your own words ! Hard knocks are inevitable. Don't fool yourself into thinking you'll avoid them. Be sure, you will pass by the test one day or another. And the point of trial is not so much to test the intensity of your faith as to purify it. God already knows its solidity or its fragility. He allows trial in your life so that you can evaluate it and act on it. Reflect on what in your life today is causing you the most difficulty and ask yourself : “Are these difficulties deepening my faith and my trust in God or on the contrary making them waver?” If you really want to please God, really impress him with the depth of your faith, then think carefully about the implications in your life of this short phrase : “Without faith it is impossible to please God”. Faith is an active substance which proves itself by our imitation of the conduct of Christ. John Piper explains it this way : “We please God when our relationship with Him reflects two important aspects of His personality : 1- that He exists and 2- that He rewards His own.” Do you want to please Him ?
