"Be my imitators, as I am of Christ." 1 Corinthians 11.1
To live a life that makes sense, learn to shape your beliefs about those who have achieved it. Some people, made of flesh and bone like you have managed to live amazing lives for the Lord. They are models, witnesses to imitate.
Find good sources around you (...) Remember what is good and move on.
If your examples are only people who criticize without ever doing anything, if the advice you receive comes only from people living failure on failure, it will poison you.
Look to those who practice the Bible rather than those who spend their time commenting on it by distributing notes. If you see Christians who have managed to live the life that God had planned for them, it will stimulate you.
Where do your beliefs come from ? From your past, from the context in which you grew up : dating, teachers, parents, etc. ? From the church where you have been taught : uplifting or discouraging ? Some people who impressed and inspired you ? Learning by culture : music, books, movies ? From your previous experiences : "If I was able once, I will be again" ?
Many elements have shaped your current beliefs. It is time for you to find good sources around you. Joseph, Moses, Joshua or Paul ... Even if they were only men with their weaknesses, the fact remains that they acted and bore fruit. Hold what is good and move on.
King David recalls through Psalm 1 that the happy woman or man chooses what influences his spirit while Solomon teaches that a person is the fruit of what he thinks (Proverbs 23: 7).
A question for today
What do you have in your head, your mind ? What are the sources that influence you ? Do you have to sort ?
