What future for our Earth ?

A headline from my daily life caught my attention this morning of the scorching summer 2019 : "What will Alsace look like in 2050 ?"

Thirty years ahead ? Our kids take funny selfies like this on a suitable “app” and we got them too. In thirty years, my wife and I will be celebrating our 100th birthday, most certainly with the Lord !

But the article in Latest News from Alsace once again prompts me to ask myself : "What world are we leaving to our children ?". The question goes well beyond the future of Alsace, of course, even of the Grand Est ! Our selfish and voracious lifestyles have already completely transformed the planet, which is excessively polluted. Do you doubt ? Type "pollution by cigarette ends" or "pollution by our mails" on your search engine, you will be edified !

There is another pollution that worries me a lot : it is that of minds and hearts, by the unrestrained interference of scenes of violence and unbridled sex on the screens, alongside a merciless evacuation of the good news. of salvation in Jesus Christ, both screens and hearts. Yet, both ecologically, ethically and spiritually, what else than the Gospel is capable of fundamentally changing mentalities ? He washes our hearts from the pollution of sin and directs them to what pleases the Lord !
