What happiness to please Him !

Searching the Scriptures

My servant Job will pray for you and it is because I have consideration for him that I will not treat you according to your foolishness (...) The Lord had respect for Job. Job 42: 8-9

Job had just gone through a series of terrifying trials in his life. He had lost his children, his wealth, his servants, his health and even his reputation ! To top it off, his friends had misbehaved towards him and God was irritated by their words. So he asked Job to forgive them and to pray for them. This is what he did.

God admired his attitude so much that he considered Job. Other versions show that Job's prayer was pleasing to him, or that he had regard to his prayer. He consoled Job and awarded him double what he had lost. Do you know that God has all kinds of feelings ? He can be joyful, disappointed, rejoiced or hurt, depending on the actions of each man.

Of course, God is love and he loves everyone, no matter who they are or what they do. Yes it is certain ! God not only has love, but God is love. It is his identity, his nature, to love infinitely and absolutely every human being. And his free love does not depend on their every action. He is the Heavenly Father who cherishes his children.

But if his love is unconditional, his Father's heart may be filled or saddened by whatever you choose. When you decide to forgive, not to gossip, to help your neighbor, to keep a pure heart, in short to do what is right, you have the capacity to fill your heart with a Father, with pleasure, with pride.

So love, encourage, forgive, be generous ! You will be his joy and his delight, and his blessing will not leave you.

Listen the voice of God

Let's take the time to listen to what God means. Is there something that God expects you to do now ?

Praying is simple. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, I want to make all your joy. Give me the strength to love as you love and to practice good to fill your heart as a Father."

Praise God

To praise God is to show him our gratitude. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a moment to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our route for the day comes to an end. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Thank you Lord for your love which is free, unconditional. Yours is the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
