What is in your heart ?
Search the Scriptures
Since this is what is in your heart, since you do not ask for riches, nor goods, nor glory, nor the death of your enemies, nor even a long life, and you ask for yourself wisdom and understanding to judge my people over whom I have made you reign, wisdom and understanding your sound granted. I will give you, moreover, wealth, goods and glory, such as never had any king before you and as will not have any after you. 2 Chronicles 1.11-12
When God appeared to Solomon that night, he gave him the opportunity to reveal what was in his heart when he said to him : "Ask whatever you want" (2 Chronicles 1:7).
Sometimes God puts us in situations like this, where we have to react, to make a choice. We need to reveal what is going on in our thoughts and what we consider most important in our life.
If we want to be ready for this kind of test, we must search our hearts and our thoughts now. The opportunities can be given either by other people at work, in our surroundings or in our homes, or even by God himself.
We need to know our motives and attitudes and free ourselves from sin and evil desires.
We must be sure that we seek to please God and that we do not cling to our human desires.
Today, God is ready to bless you, as he did Solomon. He wants to know what's in your heart. Ask Him to search your heart and your mind and make sure you are pure in His sight. Dedicate your time, talents and resources to it. Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness.
Listen the voice of God
Let's take the time to listen to what God wants to say. Do you need to let God search your heart deeply?
Praying is simple. Speak to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Father, search my heart today and remove everything that displeases you. I desire to serve you in my life. Make me a blessing to those around me and use me to spread the Gospel in the world. In the name of Jesus. Amen."
Praise God
Are you aware that when he searches you, God wants your good ? Thank him for his paternal benevolence and his desire to work with you.
Act today
Now, how are you going to put this into practice ? It's simple : you can, like a beloved child, open your heart to God right now and let him look and act in you.
Honor the Lord
Our journey for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.
"Thank you God, for you do not judge me and you love me as I am. Yours is the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
