What's the point ?

My life is exhausted in pain, and my years in sighs ; my strength is weakening because of my fault, and my bones are wasting away. Psalm 31. 11

Now, eternal life is that they know you, the one true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ. John 17. 3

What's the point ?

Our life is largely affected by suffering, and death is its inevitable end. Hence the questioning of many on the meaning of their existence : What is the point of living ? Does life have any meaning if I have to spend part of it suffering ? What meaning to give to existence when happiness seems to constantly flee ?

A book of the Bible, "Ecclesiastes", gives an answer to this question : "All is vanity and pursuit of the wind". No, earthly existence has no meaning if we exclude God from it.

The Bible also tells us why. By disobeying God, man has placed himself outside his plan of blessing. The consequence is his chaotic life. She can flow happily, then fall into drama in a matter of hours. Everyone can struggle in their own way to find pleasure, often very short-lived, but who can give them certainty about its inevitable end ?

God answered, still in the Bible. To fill the void of our soul, and to enlighten our life in hope, he sent his Son, Jesus Christ, the true light which illuminates every man. He sent him to establish a living relationship with his creatures. "But to all who accepted him, to those who believe in his name, he gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12). Those who believe in the name of Jesus receive new life, everlasting life (John 3:16). Children of God, they can call him Father and live for him. And this life is definitely worth living.
