What's your coat called ?

Mark 10:15 – The blind man threw off his cloak and jumped up and came to Jesus.

Here is the story of a man from Jericho, Bartimaeus, who was a blind beggar. As Jesus passed, he began to cry out for help. His attitude disturbed some who tried to silence him but without success, since he was shouting even louder. Eventually the Lord will call him and heal him.

Let's look at Bartimaeus' walk of faith. He did not hesitate to cry out to God even if it was disturbing. He persevered in this process when we wanted to discourage him, to stop him. The strongest is our verse! His coat was probably his only fortune. It allowed him to keep him warm but also served as a mattress. By throwing it away, he had no guarantee of finding it, thefts being frequent, especially if it was not cured. I don't think he thought about all that. Like an athlete in the starting block before a hundred meters, he had his spiritual eye on the goal, the finish line to be reached as quickly as possible. His coat became an embarrassment in this departure and he simply threw it away, he did not want anything to come between him and Jesus.

Bartimaeus was cured of his blindness and probably got his coat back. In any case, he no longer needed to beg. The Lord will say “Your faith has saved you” ! The trigger for healing is this determination to obtain the blessing.

And for us, what is our determination ? What is our coat called? Let us rise in a leap of faith to experience the miracle.
