Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. The commandments of the Lord that I give you today will be in your heart. You will repeat them to your children ; you will talk about it when you are at home, when you are traveling, when you go to bed and when you get up. Deuteronomy 6. 5-7

What you do screams louder than what you say

It is a constant concern for us, Christian parents, that our children are brought to faith in the Lord Jesus. It is the Word of God that guides the education we give them. But the way for them to come to faith is different for everyone. God carefully prepares it ; and the means he employs escape us.

Here is Fred's example : Raised in a Christian family, at 16, he still has little interest in the Bible. Suddenly his behavior changes. He becomes submissive to his parents because of the affection he owes them. He seeks to please them and to understand the Word of God read with them : Jesus becomes his Savior. Once a distracted listener at Christian meetings, he says he was not convinced by the messages. But suddenly he realizes that the life of his parents resembles that of Christ : peace, patience, humility, commitment out of love for God. He discovers the secret of their happiness.

This is an encouragement for us believing parents. For some time our attachment to the Word of God and our concern to be led by his teaching remained misunderstood. One day, the memory of what has been said, and above all shown, bears fruit ! More than our words, our attitude in everyday life, the atmosphere of family life, leave an unforgettable imprint.

And you, young people who do not know such a family atmosphere, know, you too, that Jesus the Savior is near you and wishes to transform your life.
