When everything goes wrong, turn to God
Searching the Scriptures
Hope in the Lord ! Be strong and may your heart be strengthened ! Hope in the Lord ! Psalm 27.14
David was at his wit's end. In Psalm 27:13, he cries out : "Oh, if I was not sure that I saw the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living."
Have you reached your breaking point ? You then have two options : it passes or it breaks. Everything depends on you.
An old saying goes : "The same sun melts butter and hardens clay." In the face of trouble, you can either turn away from God because you have served Him and He disappointed you, or you can turn to Him for strength and understanding. What David then says is of great importance : "Hope in the Lord ! Be strong, and let your heart be established ! Hope in the Lord."
Sometimes God calms our storms, sometimes he uses them to strengthen us. Understand that it is not only about you, but also about the people that God wants to reach through you.
The Bible says : "He comforts us in all our distress so that we can comfort those who are in distress." (2 Corinthians 1.4). Nothing catches God off guard, and nothing is too much for him to deal with. Your current situation can serve as a platform for him to demonstrate his love for you and for others.
Listen to the voice of God
Let’s take the time to listen to what God means. Is there a storm raging in your life ? Keep your eyes on him for he is there with you.
Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example prayer : "Lord, my future is not hidden from your eyes. I choose to keep the faith and move forward in spite of everything. You are a good father and you are never caught off guard."
Praise God
To praise God is to show him our gratitude. What are your subjects of recognition today ? Take a moment to thank the Lord for this.
Act today
Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.
Honor the Lord
Our route for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.
"Thank you Lord for your benevolence which is not exhausted, for your compassion which is not expired and is renewed each morning. Yours be the kingdom, the power and the glory, amen !"
