When God shows it to you

"Then their eyes opened and they knew him." Luke 24:31

One day, Jesus touched the eyes of a blind man who exclaimed : "I see men, but like trees, and they walk." Mark 8:24. In other words : "I see something, but it is still vague". Then Jesus touched him again so that he could see distinctly.

God can do all sorts of things, but you do not see them because you are spiritually blind.

Without a vision of God, you will stumble into life, unable to see who God is and what he can do, or see who you are and what he can accomplish through you.

Thomas Edison "saw" the incandescent filament long before the first electric lamp shines. His vision allowed him to persevere despite thousands of failed experiments. Bill Gates "saw" a PC in every office, every house, while the so-called experts said : "It will never happen in our lifetime." Forty years before Israel entered the Promised Land, Moses had "seen" it Hebrews 11:27. God can do all sorts of things, but you do not see them because you are spiritually blind.

Do you remember the two disciples on the road to Emmaus ? Jesus walked several kilometers with them, but it was only after we had explained to them the Scriptures that we read : "Then their eyes opened and they knew it." Luke 24:31. When you begin to see God at work in your life, your fear diminishes and your faith increases.

How is it revealed ? In the church ? Sometimes. But most often it reveals itself through its Word, opens our eyes and suddenly we see it in an entirely new way.

A prayer for today

So today pray : "Open my eyes, that I may contemplate [...]" Psalm 119.18.
