When I lift my eyes to the Lord
Searching the Scriptures
My days decline like the evening shadow, and I am withered like grass, but You, O Lord, reign forever, and you are remembered from generation to generation. You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to give grace to her. Yes, the appointed time has come. Psalm 102.12-14
Here we see the image of a man suffering from deep discouragement, loneliness and despair. He feels that his life is dwindling like the evening shadows decline. He has so little time to live. He said : "I am withered like grass"
Have you ever had this feeling ? And what do you do when you feel that way ?
React like this man did. He looked away from himself, from his own situation, he looked up to the Lord, and by faith he saw the Lord seated on his throne, and he understood that the Lord does not change. depending on our circumstances and situation.
The Lord is always on his throne. He never abdicates, he controls the situation constantly and absolutely. Then he realizes that a time of compassion and grace is coming. He said : "You will have mercy on Zion, for it is time to give him mercy. Yes, the appointed time has come." I think this is a prophetic time. I think we are living in a time when the Lord is determined to show his grace to his people, to restore them.
So, let's lift our noses from our problems, our distresses, our anxieties. Let us lift our eyes, like the psalmist, to the throne of God, see him reign and understand that he is ready to show his grace.
Listen to the voice of God
Let’s take the time to listen to what God means. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and let the Holy Spirit fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding.
Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, I want to look away from the chaos present in this world, and lift my eyes and my heart to you. Help me to meditate on things above. I want to put on my" helmet. of salvation "to protect my thoughts, to turn my eyes to the throne of God, and to realize that you are King."
Praise God
To praise God is to show him our gratitude. What are your subjects of recognition today ? Take a moment to thank the Lord for this.
Act today
Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.
Honor the Lord
Our route for the day comes to an end. Let us pray together to honor our God.
"Lord, by faith, I believe that you have acted in my situation and that angels are on the way to help me. Yours be the kingdom, the power and the glory forever. So be it !"
