Where will your help come from ?

Search the Scriptures

In my distress, I called on the Lord, I cried out to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice, he was willing to listen to my cry. Psalm 18:7

“Trécy, you are going to fall asleep, don’t worry, you will be much better when you wake up.” By injecting Trécy with a good dose of sedative, the nurse wanted to reassure her and soothe her about this excruciating pain which came from the leg operation she had just undergone. Unfortunately, the situation turned tragic, because Trécy had a bad reaction to the medication and his heart stopped beating. There was immediate panic, everyone around her panicked and the doctors used all their means to resuscitate her.

Trécy then had a special experience ! She literally saw herself leave her body and observed herself lying inert on her hospital bed. Then a black shadow, death, appeared and headed towards her. She says : "At that moment, I cried out to God with all my strength and, suddenly, a white light brighter than the sun covered my body and chased away this shadow." This extraordinary encounter with God did not stop there because a few minutes later, Trécy miraculously came back to life !

Do you need to be rescued ? Perhaps your distress signals are on and you cry out to God night and day for help ? Take courage ! God is the best protector there is. He is your most reliable shield and, undoubtedly, he will also come to your aid.

Listen the voice of God

Do you feel like Trécy ? as if darkness surrounded you ? Take time to listen to God and let Him soothe you.

Praying is simple. Talk to God like you would your closest friend. God loves you and can hear everything. Here is a sample prayer : "Lord, I am afraid. I sometimes feel like I am alone in my situation. I want to take courage today, because you are the one who will never abandon me. Surely, you will come to my aid. Amen."

Praise God

It is often difficult to praise God in difficult situations, but like David, you can proclaim, “It is better to hope in God and to praise Him again, my Savior and my God !” (Psalm 42:6). He is your Savior and your God ! Praise Him again, even and especially, if you feel very weak.

Take action today

Now, what can you do as you wait for God's help ? Write down the concrete actions that come to you. Select at least one that you can do today. It can be continuing to praise Him and moving forward just one day at a time, keeping the faith.

Honor the Lord

Our journey for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Lord, I praise you that you do not abandon those who hope in you. Yours be the kingdom, the power and the glory, amen !"
