Who is who... ?

When I contemplate the heavens, the work of your hands, the moon and the stars you created... Psalm 8.4

When I was a teenager and I looked at the summer sky with my telescope, I asked myself this dizzying and frightening question at the same time : “What contains the universe ?" What confused me then was that I was almost certain that my question was unanswered. Faced with all the staggering distances that separate the stars from each other, the idea of ​​an infinite universe troubled me. I didn't imagine finding an answer by rephrasing it like this : "Who is who...?"

Eight years later, while waiting for my train, I bought a New Testament at the kiosk at Tours station. I found the story of the Gospels captivating, and the person of Jesus, remarkable ! But at that time, I was unable to think of Jesus as God. However, if my intelligence was still confused about the divinity of Jesus, my heart was already won over by this man who was so just and so good... When at last, in other circumstances, I understood that Jesus was God made man, this extraordinary revelation implicitly answered my youthful question.

Yes, God “contains” the universe ! Better still : through Jesus, I live a personal relationship with my Creator!  For man, the most beautiful discovery is not at the end of a telescope, it consists in meeting his creator through faith in Jesus Christ...
