Who wants to succeed his life ?

"Sow your seeds in the morning, do not stop working until evening, because what activity is going to succeed, this one or that, you do not know, maybe they're both good." Ecclesiastes 11.6

Let us search wholeheartedly for rest. Hebrews 4.11

These are two verses that seem very contradictory. And yet ! The Word of God is perfectly balanced. She invites us both to rest and work !

If we want to prosper, we have to roll up our sleeves !

On the one hand, we are called to trust God and the work of Christ in our lives. He forgives us, regenerates us, gives us a new nature and makes us a new creation. Here is the rest : the part of God, fruit of his infinite love, the undeserved grace that we can not reach by our own efforts.

On the other hand, it encourages us to courage, work and perseverance. Nonchalance and laziness are not values ​​of the kingdom of God. And if we want to prosper, we have to roll up our sleeves! Here is our part and our responsibility.

"Work more to earn more." We all have in mind the slogan of the presidential campaign of 2007. Whatever we think, from a political point of view, of the famous maxim of Nicolas Sarkozy, it is absolutely certain that it is true of one point spiritual view. If you want to succeed in your life, prosper physically, spiritually, physically or emotionally, it requires investment, effort and will.

This is not an invitation to exhaustion and burn-out, but to a proper implication in the kingdom of God. Love and help our neighbor. Lead an honest life. Take care of your spouse, your children, your family, our friends ... Look for God, pray, meditate on his Word. Forgive. Be generous ... etc. And all of this, by continuing to rest on God and having faith in His protection, His love and His divine conduct. That's the secret of happiness and success !

A decision for today

Lord, I have faith in you and in the power of your Holy Spirit in my life. He guides me, keeps me and inspires me. Show me also, day after day, moment by moment, how to act and work more for you to succeed in my life and prosper in all respects.
