Why are we on the earth ?

What is your life ? You are a vapor that appears for a little while and then disappears. James 4. 14

We are his work, having been created in Jesus Christ for good works, which God prepared in advance for us to practice. Ephesians 2. 10

Why are we on the earth ?

Isn't living without a past or without a future perspective a kind of tragedy for man ? Why was I born ? Where am I going, and until when ? What will remain of me after my death ? So many questions that cross our minds, as long as we have not found a reason for our life !

The hope of a survival that would not only be biological, the need to be part of a time that goes beyond that of our existence, to preserve things that are no longer : this is indeed a characteristic of the human race ! In the sciences, philosophy, the arts, and literature in particular, man tries to find refuge, answers, appeasement...

But what does the one who made us say ? Who better than our Creator can give meaning, value and purpose to our lives ? His Word reveals to us why we are on earth. Our presence here below is not the result of chance or accident : it was desired, willed. Even before each of us was created, God knew us, and loved us. Ask him ! You were born by him and for him. King David thus addressed God : "I praise you because I am such a marvelous creature. Your works are marvelous, and my soul knows it well" (Psalm 139:14).

But what is this goal, given by God to our life ? It is to let us know his love and to prepare us to be with him eternally. For this, he sent us his Son, Jesus Christ the Savior.
