Wonders (1)

A wonder, according to the dictionary definition, is something that elicits intense admiration for its beauty, grandeur, value. The ancient world had its seven wonders. Today only the pyramid of Cheops remains. What is of the earth passes, but man always seeks to be amazed. God, in the Bible, reveals his wonders to us. He invites us to see his greatness and the magnificent purpose he pursues for his creature. The creation of the world is the immense universe is one of the wonders of the Almighty Creator God. Do we want to consider them ?

God used to ask Job : "Job, listen to these words ! Be still and consider the wonders of God ! Do you know how God controls them ? Do you know how he makes the lightning shine ? Do you know how them clouds are balanced ? These are the marvelous acts of one who knows everything perfectly" (Job 37. 14-16). Amazed, Job perceived the wisdom and sovereignty of God ; he understood that he was just a creature needing to trust his Creator.

The king of Babylon saw the omnipotence of God : "He acts as he wishes with the heavenly bodies and with the inhabitants of the earth. There is no one who can resist them and who says to him : What is to do- you ?" (Daniel 4:32).

For the believer, it is wonderful to know that the sovereign God is the one who loves him. He did not spare his only Son to save him, and he lovingly cares for those who have become his children.
